Israel Visit 21 November 2005
After goodbyes, we left Ezuz about 0800 h for a 5-hour drive across the Negev East to West, down into the Dead Sea-Jordan River valley, and up the valley, skirting Jericho, to the
Southern shore of Lake Kinneret.

| Caves in mountains North of Qumran. Dead Sea Scrolls were found in several of these caves. Village of Qumran is in foreground. |
| One of several mikvot (singular mikvah, baptismal pool) in Qumran. The Essenes who lived here in 1st century were very ascetic, purifying themselves by washing several times daily. |
| Plastered cistern in Qumran. |
| Lush vegetation at Kibbutz Ma'agan guest house, on Southern shore of Lake Kinneret. Note kumquats falling on ground! A pity! |
